Senior Business Developer/Project Manager Data Services

Alba Orbital is the world leader in PocketQube satellites and is one of the UK’s most innovative companies. We are looking for a Senior Business Developer Position to explore to Liaising with Potential Users off data services, with particular focus on aviation (ANSP) and Weather (Met Office) users to develop use cases for future services. They will also lead our Applications team to more more broadly explore how PocketQube data could be monetized.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise weekly with ESA technical officer to update progress,

  • Managing project Gantt Chart to meet key delivery milestones

  • Ensuring Documentation is delivered to the customer on schedule

  • Organise onsite visits to prospective users facilities

  • Extensive travel

  • Identify new sales leads, pitching products, and maintaining strong relationships with existing/new customer in the PocketQube/data markets.

  • Understanding the needs of different companies and learning who make decision about purchasing/signing off to procure Alba Orbital solutions within the prospective customer’s company

  • Planning, overseeing, attending conferences, meetings and industry events to develop marketing strategy

  • Preparing documentation, sales displays, developing proposals, and negotiation to achieve the sales target

  • Reporting Project updates Directly to CEO

The candidate must demonstrate

  • 4 years business development experience or similar

  • Management or Project Management experience prefered

  • Track record of building user/customer interest in a new product or service

  • Preferably networks with aviation of weather community

  • Preferably knowledge of Small satellites

Education & Experience:

Degree in an engineering or business discipline, ideally with postgraduate qualification

The contract is for 9 months and is unlikely to be extended beyond this period.
