Alba Orbital is looking for an Engineering Technician (EE or ME) to join our satellite manufacturing team.
The candidate will have the chance to exercise their initiative, adaptability and drive in a fast-paced, highly technical environment. The chosen candidate will work alongside engineers, software developers and technicians on long-term programs supporting satellite manufacturing and development.
Responsibilities:
Assembling complex sensor systems through mechanical assembly, soldering circuit boards, and building complex wiring harnesses
Assemble, fix, and calibrate satellite systems
Performing lab and/or field tests for individual component subsystems and/or complete systems ensuring compliance with functional and performance requirements
Maintaining and organising test and laboratory equipment
Maintaining and organising stock
Requirements:
Self-motivating with a can-do attitude
Flexible approach to getting stuck in and helping out.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
HNC/HND in Engineering Technology or similar technical degree
Soldering proficiency, both thru-hole and SMT
Interest in both electronics and mechanical aspects of build.
Familiarity with common electronics and mechanical build tools.
Detail-oriented mindset focusing on quality workmanship
Clear and purposeful verbal communication
